ROBERTA FRANK THEATER ARTS SCHOLARSHIP

In 2014, we lost one of our dearest friends. Roberta Frank was a pianist, singer, and actor who was active in many local arts organizations, including InConcert Sierra and Sierra Master Chorale, Music in the Mountains, and Sierra Stages.

Roberta appeared onstage (as the Baronness) in our 2009 production of The Sound Music at the Miners Foundry  and as a secretary in the production of How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, also in 2009. Roberta played in the orchestra for A Grand Night for Singing in 2011, sang as a member of the Vocal Minority for Company, and played rehearsal piano for You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. When Roberta was not onstage or in the pit, she attended our shows, often more than once.

To honor Roberta's memory, Sierra Stages established the Roberta Frank Theater Arts Scholarship: $1000 to be awarded annually to a deserving local high school student who wishes to pursue a degree in theatre, technical theatre, or music or musical theatre. Sierra Stages is proud to be able to offer this scholarship to graduating local high school students with a proven interest in any of the theatre arts.

High school students in the greater community served by Sierra Stages may apply for the scholarship through the Nevada Joint Union High School District or by contacting Sierra Stages at info@SierraStages.org or by calling 530.346.3210.
